well, i just bought an excessive amperage 200 amp alt, and an everstart maxx. I was wondering if it would be better to run the maxx in the back, and keep the duralast i have up front, or just put the maxx up front and nothing in the back, also would the extra battery have a greater draw on my alt?

if you run it in the back just make sure you vent it. u have a larger alt both batteries are better.

Yea, if not, you die... maybe.

the best way to vent it is safe and out of the way, but also as long as it can let air out, you will be ok.. kind of like an amp. but id rather have an amp blow on me than a battery.. i have my Everstart Maxx(largest one from wal mart), in a battery box i picked up there behind my seats, with the top of the lid to the battery box off..


also be sure to fuse both ends of the battery.. from around a foot from the postive post from the hood battery, to about a foot from the positive post from the secondary battery.. and make sure you have a good ground.

i'd be specially careful with mounting the battery... since those everstart maxx's are liquid.... i'd hate to see what happens when it gets tossed around and spills or some stuff like that.

^That's the beauty of the battery box... they can be strapped or bolted down to hold them in place.

So your battery is in your cab with you and isn't sealed or vented to the outside?

i have no where else to put it.. sure i could put it in my bed.. but im 4" from the ground.. and its bouncy.. i have it strapped down in my truck.. and it will not go anywhere.. and it must vent well because i never smell anything, even after my truck sits over night.. so i dunno guys.. i have had it spill on my though when i first got it, i was test fitting it... now parts of my carpet is white and gooey, haha.. but the carpet was crap anyway..

The thing is that the fumes are explosive :)

A friend of mine had a battery explode under the hood in her Volkswagon and it blew the top off the battery.
