question about placement of second pair of mid bass drivers

Post by colemanyoungerinalaska »

ok i kinda want to put a second pair of mid bass drivers in my car my question is where? there are no places for speakers anywhere but in the front and those are filled so ill have to cut a hole in the doors im just not sure where to do it and i dont wanna mess up and put them in a spot that sounds bad i could build a box for them but id find it much more aesthetically pleasing with them in a door covered.
should i put them in the front near the set i have or in the rear doors or what
i dont really want kick panels either cuz knowing my luck they will get destroyed

Why do you want a second pair of midbass drivers? If you're running a 3-way and you don't have enough midbass, you should probably be considering phase issues, driver levels (specifically sub levels) or finally considering getting new drivers that can keep up with the bass levels you require. That's all assuming you've got your doors deadened and sealed to the bone.
