I have a JVC head unit that I just bought used and when I hooked it up (using an adapter from Schoch) everything works perfectly except for none of the speaker outputs are working. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance...

what kind of car is it? some cars have stock preamp head units and you need what is called an amplifier integration harness to get any sound. mitsubishi infinity systems stick out most in my mind as needing this

just a thought.. try hooking up any speaker direct to the speaker wires out of the h/u if they still don't work direct off the h/u, the h/u may have problems on the output.

^ What they said

Also if the H/U has front preouts then you could always amp the front stage (recommended anyway).

I got a head unit here with a busted internal amp. So I know its possible.

thatswhat I was trying to say.. If you skip all the adapters and harness and stuff and sit there with speaker in hand, go from the deck direct to a speaker.. then if you get nothing you know you have in internal problem.
