Basically what I tell my customers, when they ask about a capacitor is: "Anything over 0.5 isn't worth it and will only cause more of a strain on your stock charging system"... Now if they still insist on having one, I'll sell it to them, but I try to let them know ahead of time

Ok im confused. In the mannuel of the amp it says:

Note: No less than 0ga power and ground wire must be used in these wiring configurations. We also
recommend the use of a 2 farad capacitor for optimized power delivery.

and now you are saying that anything over .5 isnt worth it? What should i do

umm....not get one. What type of amplifier are you getting? More often than not cap's will not solve voltage drops, they are only like a band aid. If you really want to fix your voltage drops, get a HO alternator

^ Exactly... Most companies recommend a capacitor use in the manual... Why you ask? Simple... These same companies make capacitors too, so naturally they would prefer that you purchase more of their product.
For a true fix for increased voltage draw just adding a little reserve bank (a.k.a. capacitor) is not going to do anything but create more of a strain on your stock alternator since it is still creating the same amount of power...
What you need is to increase the power being produced... Answer = High Output Alternator.

Quick question. Would the Kinetik Power Cells fall into this quotes parameters? Reason I ask is because they claim that their HC600 has the power of 100 1 farad capacitors. Not only that, but I have heard dealers around here refer to them as battcaps.

Now, to me, if you look at their specs (regardless of model) they are comparable to any other car audio specific battery, ie Stinger. Obviously they boast better numbers, however the confusion lies in the advertising to me anyway. I guess what I am trying to ask is, are Kinetik Power Cells of the battery family or the capacitor family?

If they are in the capacitor family, then I am not going to use mine in the Lincoln, I am going to buy some Stingers, or do some research and find something comparable to Stinger for less....

kinetik power cells are batteries. not caps.
they work very similar to caps in that they charge and discharge fairly quickly.
but kinetik's cells hold a true charge. and whatever the model number is, that's it's CCA. ie, HC600 has about 600 CCA
