I have 1 IDQ 12 powered off 400 alpine watts that pounds pretty nice( it shakes s**t loose in my car) but at low vol. I hear lead slap and it bugs da f**k outa me. Is there any way to cure this or do I just need to get another sub? :help:

get some felt and glue it to the underside of the cone if u can and that should minimize if not prevent that slap a bit

I think I'd tape it to the spider if possible instead of connecting anything to the cone. If there's not enough slack for cone movement, it might offer enough resistance to make the VC scrape or worst case, tear a hole in the cone. You want something that's going to go BEFORE the spider or cone. :)

so does fi. putting felt on it is fine it weights next to nothing. i also took a small piece of thread and tied them to each other. that usually helps.

The felt would probably work... could also take a couple drops of silicone and attach the lead to the spider (I don't think tape would hold that long).
