I needed to replace a blown rear speaker in my pontiac sunfire, it has a monsoon audio system. The rear speakers appear to have 2 speakers in one; the speaker and tweeter, each with a separate feed. The new speaker I purchase are Alpine sps69C 2 way speakers. Because the old feed has 4 feeds and the new speakers have 2 not sure how to hook them up. I've tried various combinations but the sound is not very good, infact the bass seems to be missing. Does anyone experienced a similiar problem and if so how did you resolve....thanks....

Well you have premium sound so you have an internal amplifier and who knows what Ohms them monsoon speakers are.

With that being said, I would advise checking junk yards for a replacement speaker or with GM.

Otherwise you are probably opening a big can of worms.

Thanks for the information, I just found that out from the Audio store. Lucky for me they took the speakers back and I order a new one from GM, wow...expensive...I should make my son pay for it since he blew the speaker...but I guess a good father wouldn't do that...Thanks again for your help...Dan

If you don't mind the question, what did GM soak you for that speaker?

The Monsoon speakers run at 2ohm vs. the standard 4ohm...
And although they are a decent factory set up as far as sound... upgrading is a major pain in the butt.

i just had a customer bring me those basic delco 6x9 speakers that are in everything gm makes with the basic delco system. he has an older cadillac and thought they were special speakers or something, i asked what he paid for them.....65 bucks each, 130 for the pair...these are the whizzer cone speakers, nothing special...
