Car audio install show-off sites...

Post by thebigo »

I'm sure there are a ton out there, but which sites are the best for people who showcase their audio systems... I'm pretty bored at the moment and I'd love to look at some custom instals...

There are some hella nice installs here.

Why is it most of these really awesome fabricated cars use cheap gear and put it in the worst locations? Some of the things I see on that forum are very confusing.

Alot of the location of the stuff is just to show off and not to actually have an overwhelming acoustical impact... heck I've seen a ton of show cars that when you turn the system on are either way under powered or just sound like crap... somebody really needs to tell these people that looks aren't everything :p

I put up a comment every once in a while in a less conspicuous way. I'll ask how their staging is or tell them I'm new to audio and was wondering why thy chose to line up three 6x9s across the bottom of their door or what ever.

Yeah we've got another local audio place up here that has a couple vehicles.
The Kicker truck got laughed out of some outskirts SPL races and so they just use it as a show piece now, and the Celica they built... well lets just say that I get a cleaner sound out of farting :p

lmao ...

When I was in Arizona back in '94 or so, A shop I worked under the table for bought a Fosgate demo van for about $10k. Not a bad deal at all. They stripped the gear out of it, two power 1000s, two or four 18" subs, all the door speakers, the clifford alarm, etc. everything. They replaced it with Boss equipment because that was the bread and butter of that shop. Can you believe it? What a waste. It was the worst sound vehicle I've ever heard.

damn, we got off track.

AAAaaaahhhhhh .....

Wouldn't really say this is "Off Track" since we are talkin about show vehicles... ;)
But here's one that can keep people lookin for a while: http://www.carstereo.com/installs/?Car-Audio-Installs-Gallery-Installer

Sad thing is I run a Boss Audio sub and amp in my daily driver... but for the same reason for the most part, prove to kids that have next to no money for a system that you can actually have something that sounds halfway decent if it's tuned right.

Ya, I know this is a bump of an ancient thread. But for anyone who comes across this. We created our own car and truck showoff site, that anyone can join and add their rides too.

Everyone's ride is welcome!
