You get:
- P3 500/256ram Dell laptop with a full copy of TrueRTA Lvl 3
- ecm5000 mic
- Terratec Aureon 5.1 Usb external sound card
- Rolls mp13 preamp
- Bunch of cables - balanced/unbalanced rcas/3.5mm to 3.5mm
- Test cds with linear notes
Details(please read):
The laptop battery is junk and you will need to keep it plugged in. This wasn't a big deal for me as the Rolls needed power as well so I had a 6 bar near it, but you could always get another off Egay. The laptop comes with a basic case and wireless card. The laptop has NO cd-rom or floppy drive, you WILL have to use a usb stick/network connection to get software on it. The laptop also comes with win2k pro installed with a bunch of other free audio software besides TrueRTA.
Test cds included are Sheffield Labs with notes - Test tones with notes - Chesky Sound Labs with notes on cd - DB Jams disk =] - Iasca cd with notes(scratched on some early tracks)
Whats your thoughts? Anyone know about that mic? Thats not the Behringer mic Ive seen recommended numerous times...
Also how much ya think its worth with the laptop?
I made a bid on it, not sure if I was to high. $140 shipped. Sound good? If so, Im probably going to get it here. The laptop is probably worthless except to run the software...lol.

As long as everthing works and you get the laptop to run just the software still seems like a decent enough price.

I don't know what brand of mic that is. ECM stands for Electret condenser microphone though.
Doesn't sound like a bad deal though. You can always run the laptop and preamp from a power inverter in another car :)

ECM5000 was probably an older iteration of the Behringer mics. (Current is ECM8000.) 140$ shipped sounds like an awesome deal to me.

Ok, I think Im going to email him back on it!
What the hell, only live once.
Ive done a search with the number listed on that mic. Only thing I can turn up was on a home audio forum...

I think he wrote the wrong thing down. It looks just like an ECM8000 and I couldn't find anything on google about ECM5000, so. In any case, that's a great deal.

I have TrueRTA on my laptop. I use a Behringer EMC8000 mic and a Behringer UB802 mixer (just serves as a preamp for the mic) with it.
That equipment cost me a little over $100, so I'd say that's an ok deal.

not bad for the price, although that notebook looks ancient, and you can buy the software on-line.
I'd just get an audiocontrol RTA and a more standardized mic for testing if you plan to use it for car audio.
