well im a noob to this site just found it as a link on one of the posts on the w body site and so i need helping deciding a sub. i listen to alot of hip hop and ive looked alot online lately trying to decide if i want to stick with 2 12's or switch to possibly 1 15 or 2 if i could fit it. Recently for christmas, my dad decided to buy a "bass package" from crutchfield 2 12 free with the purchase of the KAC7252 amp ive been through about 3 to 4 of the kenwoods so far and so my question is whats a good half decent quality subwoofer but is easy on my wallet well becuase i make min wage for the part time job. i was thinking about MA audio, Rocford fosgate, Audiopipe, or i have a chance to pick up a sony P5 15' for about 60 with a box. what do you guys think is my best route? i need answers quickly as i plan on getting a sub back in ASAP! any help or suggestions is welcome thanks :happy055:

From what you've listed for best bang for the buck would be Audiopipe (stay away from Sony).
Other suggestions would be Fusion Powerplant subs
Although I gotta wonder what you're doing blowing all these subs... something tells me it's either wired up wrong or your using the gain as a volume knob (which it's not).
Check our FAQ threads and you'll learn some great info on install and system info.

i dig the audiopipe too but your not gonna be happy if you underpower them....fusio subs are pretty efficient and sound pretty good with even half the rms......american bass dx subs would be pretty good while not damaging the wallet too much.....maybe xsite......or if your really on a budget soundstorm.....i hate to recomend that kind of stuff but the truth is i install a bit of it where im at and it isnt too bad.......my favorite is gonna be the fusion powerplant or nv series though they are a bit more expensive

Since you are on a budget, I would personally do a single 15" in an enclosure that is designed for that sub. Out of the brands you listed, I would only go with Audiopipe. Like Mike said, Fusion would be another good suggestion. They makes some pretty good products that perform pretty well. My question is though, what exactly is your budget?? There might be some other products we can gear you towards, but I dont know what you can or want to spend.

well being as i only usually get like 100-150 every 2 weeks for work so i would like to stay around the 100 range, ive already replaced the whole amp kit in the car thinking that might fix it, and i even replaced the deck 2 times i personally think it was kenwoods design, probably one of the cheapest subs ive seen kenwood make A for effort but D for quality. one of my friends said i was getting a negative feedback from the subs, im pretty sure im not over powering them and im almost certain my gain is right there my setup was
1 kenwood KAC7202 (150x 2)
(460x 1)
2 12 kenwood KFC-W300S
I had the amp pushing both of them with only 150 rms, crutchfield suggested running the KAC7252 which is 170x2 which doesnt make sense to me, ide install them and theyde work great for like a day or 2 but then suddenly start to smell somthing burning ( voice coil?) and they would cut in and out and then eventually blow. Thanks for the pointers but could you guys give me the websites to where those subs are at i only know like one place that sells the fusion subs
http://cardiscountstereos.com/Subwoofers.asp i was thinking bout juss getting the 15 even if its sony it should do what i want it too and thats the only thing i trust sony for, the new p5 xplodes my brothers got a set back in 03-04 and theyve held up pretty good

First of all let me say that you now know 3 places that you can get the Fusion subs (the one you knew before) and smoker and I are both dealers for Fusion and also Audiopipe, American Bass, Xsite, Soundstorm (Boss), and many others

If you're lookin for the best bang for your buck (around $100), then I would suggest Xsite XS1555 15" for $99 plus shipping, it can handle up to 1000wrms @ 2ohm and handles very well at low power levels too.
If you wanna check out the Xsite stuff go to:
http://www.xsiteusa.com/
Although you may have had one good experience with one Sony, please don't take that as an option. I along with many others here have had too many bad experiences with the newer Sony equipment. Sony used to make a quality product but now only seems to be interested in riding that namesake and compared to a ton of others that cost less makes an inferior product.

noice

do you have a website that lists what you have and how much etc.. another question i have is i dont kno if getting rid of the 2 12's for 1 15 is worth it? do you? ive never had a 15 b4 but lately ive been asking myself should i get a 15? i like alot of bass but 2 12 is plenty i juss need to hear from a more experienced person in the woofer field, ive only had 10's and 12's so im a virgin to the whole 15 field, ide like to go back to audiopipe i feel like there what im looking for but i dont want to limit myself, ide like to see what you and the other guys have to offer got any special deals? i bet shipping would rape me tho

cliff designs has an offer buy 1 get 1 free but alot of the reviews say the quality and design are for garbage so i dont think that would be worth it

You can just click on "
www.cargodz.com" in my sig below to get to the website, although it is just an informative site as I don't list sale prices on most of the car audio stuff because I am an authorized dealer and authorized dealers for many products can only list retail prices on the web... so if you buy from the web, buyer beware as most of the places that say they are authorized really aren't.
And 1 15" will give you about the same as 2 12" in this case.
Cliff Designs used to make a quality product (we used to carry them), now they are an underpowered knock off of MA Audio who now owns the company.
by the way the retail on that Xsite XS1555 is $174.95 and I usually sell them between $130-149, but I cut brakes (like many of the dealers on here) for forum members... and It says you live in Michigan (Paw Paw... where ever that is) so shipping wouldn't be horrible as we're in NW Ohio around Toledo.
Hope any of that helps

to make sure you dont blow your sub (s) be sure to check the faq for instuctions on setting your gain with a dmm or other equipment, (though a digital multi meter can be had for 5 bucks). Im guessing you had the gain and bass boost up too high, causing your subs to blow
