Two speaker problems!

Post by thebigo »

So I installed all of my equipment this weekend. I have a 1996 Ford Aerostar and i put a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP head unit with ipod adapter. That was installed with only minor problems. Then I try to put in the rear 6x9's (Polk Audio db690). The left one went in with no problem, but the right one is too close to the body of the car and the magnet clings to the body. Any suggestions on what to do with that? My second problem is the dash speakers. Crutchfield provided me with the wrong speaker wire harnesses so I want to know if I can bypass the harness and splice the wires?

On the 6x9's I would get a spacer to put in there. That will help get it off the body of the vehicle. You could bypass the harness wires but that is a lot of extra work, plus if you are unsure of what you are doing it could cause serious repurcussions. I would just get another harness.
