Car Audio Central - Ultimate Car Audio Forum and Community

I previously had a PPI PCX-4125 and loved it but it was recently stolen. I was going to replace it with the new PPI equivalent PPI DCX-1000.4 but also thought about the Soundstream VGA-500.4. They have almost identical specs. Any thoughts or comparisons? I've never used soundstream. Thanks.

I'd go w/ the soundstream amp. the newer ppi stuff is still good, but not as good as the older stuff. you should read the brand ratings in the FAQ section.

The newer SS stuff is not as good as the older stuff either.

Yea but i think i would rather have Soundstream instead of PPI. Its just my opinion tho.
