I would really like to see this evolve.
I wonder what happened to the guy who made that electrolysis machine. I wish they would have interviewed him for this show.

The largest drawback that I see with so many of these newer ideas is... Where's the room for aftermarket?
I mean great you pay nothing for gas, but you also get no real power either, want to add more... too bad. And now on to the electronics for some of these, that's a nightmare in itself... and what of our beloved aftermarket stereos... Oh that's right, even on a hybrid you loose mpg when you start making upgrades because you're puting more strain on the motor that would normally feed the car's main operating system.
Don't get me wrong... I think they have some good ideas out there, but they are along way from perfecting any of them and I don't foresee any leaps and bounds in the near future when everybody is going in so many different directions with ideas.

Sometimes you gotta suffer to do what's right.

Anyhow, car audio enthusiasts will find a way to run equipment in one of these cars when one becomes a viable mass production model.

mount a small windmill to the roof to power the audio

thats cool even if it only ends up in atvs and snowmobiles. THats still some saved gas! that is more of a viable near future goal. it will be a long time till they can match the ability and luxury of our current cars.
