Well, as many of you know, i am a swimmer.

Well, tonight, our undefeated season ended. I'm gonna go through the whole story about this year just cause i feel like ranting.

Our team is 6 years old. We have been a pretty decent team so far. Last year, we went undefeated and won our division meet. We only took like top 5 at counties like we have been for a few years before that. Well, since we have been doing good, they decided to move us up to the highest division there is. Here is the rankings of divisions that the county teams are split into....
Red(highest)
White
Blue
Gold
Silver

We were in the gold division. Yes, it was pretty low, but the gold division had some really good teams in it and was probably the second best division in the county. Well, we got moved up into the red division. We are with teams that used to to beat us at counties and 2 teams that arent in our county that always have been 1 and 2 in the division. All of us swimmers thought we were in for a hard and probably a losing year.

Well, actually, we havent done that bad. Before tonight, we went 6-0 and 3-0 in our division. We were a team that basically, came out of no where. We ended up taking first place at counties last saturday!!! We have a really good team and it has shown. But really dont have any all star swimmers. We dont have any state qualifier(if you can make states, you are pretty damn good), but we have 4 guys(including myself) that are close... within about a second off the qualifying times. We have beaten teams where their all star swimmers could crush us, but we come back with our amazing depth. We have around a dozen guys who are pretty darn good.

Well, we went into the meet tonight knowing that it was gonna be very close. We were going up against the Division champs. This meet would decide if we were to have an undefeated season and division dual meet champs. Well, we just couldnt pull it off. We ended up losing by 5 points. It sucked. Everyone swam well at the meet, but it just wasnt enough.

Well, it really sucked. But, we are determined to take first at the Division meet. And make a few state cuts on the way!!

Hey man these things happen, Just remember this defeat when you are at practice. When I played football if we lost the coach simply told us that we didn't have our hearts in it and they did. This loss proves to me that your not pushing 110% of your heart. You may be pushing 110% in physical but not heart and physical doesn't win anything.

It sounds stupid but it makes sense. Not saying ya'll weren't trying but sometimes you have to take a step backward to move forward.

Goodluck with the rest of the season (I'm assuming this didn't keep you from some sort of playoffs) if it did well sorry, I don't know much about swimming competitions.

........so close!!! god i really wish we could just swim at our own pool!

hey now, look on the bright side, we still have the loudest team in michigan :)

Well, our whole team gave it our all. We really arent hung down by the loss at all. It was just something that happened and we are moving on. It was nice to have an easy win tonight against a different team.

And about the championship thing... we have like 2 championships. The county meet is a whole county championship meet and then the split up divisions has its championship meet.... and we are ready to get back at the team who beat us at the division meet!!
