I just quit my job

Here lately I've been working 70-80+ hrs a week and just non-stop. Well on commision that'd seem great right? Wrong, I'd have to stay in the shop 12 hrs a day and then turn around and run oncall all night. Had one good night where I was out all night and turned 400ish dollars in my pocket. I thought hell yea things are looking good. Came in the next day and my work thought I made too much money that night and lowered down my labor to like 100 dollars.
So yea, now I have to find a job that pays roughly 15 dollars an hr and 40hrs a week. Shouldn't be that hard should it?
I just can't take working 8-16 hrs a day for free, does something to your head.

I just quit my job yesterday, but it was planned for quite a while turned 2 week notice in and all that. I also ended up with almost a years worth of money saved up to survive on. I only plan to be out of work until May at the most but might make it more if I feel like it. I gave the excuse of concentrating on school as the reason I quit, which is true I have tripled my classes and I was all ready going fulltime. I also have some internships lined up with agencies in the field that I want to work in, so I am good there too.
Anyway good luck. I know I felt so good not having to go to my job which sucked the life out of me, I honestly started saving up last March to quit the job.

Good luck to the both of you. I feel your pain Zero, I once worked a commision gig, I hated it, it wouldn't be that bad if I chose my own hours and days. Good luck finding that new gig.

I never worked a commision job, but I did deliver pizzas so I worked on tips. Problem was that sometimes I was tipped very well, very rarely, but most time I was tipped very poorly or not at all, most common.
Good luck ZeroAccess I don't know about your area, but my area $15 is more than most anyone pays here. Hope you can find what you are looking for.

Well, I've been tossing around the idea of joining the National Guard.
I went and talked to a recruiter the past 2 days.
Once I lose 40lbs to take the physical and what not
I'm *gasp* 270 lbs!!! I didn't freakin realized I was so fat
5'10 ...I'm almost 100 lbs over target
Going to start training with the sargent though in the mornings.
I got 2 weeks on my own , if I don't do it he's training me.

A big good luck to you. That sounds like you had a horrible job. Definately look at stuff in government. You can get some good pay out of that if you find the right jobs.
