theres alot of engine noise coming from my component speakers. cant figure it out. i ran the power on the driver and RCA on the passenger BUT i also ran the speaker wire along the passenger side too; could that be the problem? can i do that?? the ground is on a solid piece of metal. if it helps, the build was budget-friendly:
pioneer DEH-7800MP
alpine type-s components (free)
lanzar vibe amp (free!)
i know its not the best stuff, but this much noise shouldnt be here;; help!

more than likely its your ground..

1. where did you place your ground?
2. did you scrape away the paint?
3. is the bolt to your ground part of the chassis?
4. how long is your ground?
5. is your ground bolted down, and not taped?lol

Pioneers are also known for bad RCA grounds.

As already stated... definately sounds like a ground problem.

its on the body, bolted and sanded. but i'll try again
ground is less than 12 inches away
taped? are you serious? LOL have you encountered that?

i'll try regrounding for now tho

no luck. what else could be the problem?

found the problem. apparently i suck at putting an RCA into a plug. didnt fully connect the RCAs to the HU. waste my own time!! thanks

See it really can be something small and stupid...
And the reason he mentioned taped down is... I just had a guy with fog lights with the grounds zip stipped and taped down... gee I wonder why the lights won't come on
