wow... im pretty impressed with my subs now...
diamond has a very good reputation for subs... but im seriously impressed with how i did against a coworker.
we played the same song and i must admit... i was seriously close to outbumping him with my 12's...
but ill give it to him... he had me beat. but seriously... the cvx's can push !!!
if i had 15" cvx's i wouldve spanked his ass but... i can defenitly say that im thinking about going with some d6 12"'s for my next subs... i need to find the perfect amp for them though.

oh..
and for the amp...
he was running a 600 watt jbl? maybe, something close to that...
and i was running 1250 watts... i dont really know about amps... but i do know that power isnt what matters its just pushing it with the right amount, but im sure this has some effect that i did have almost twice the watts

Neither REALLY matter compared to how important the enclosure is. How the sub and ports are aimed makes a big difference as well. If what your concerned with is spl, you should talk to bilbo(bwcad1).

we were both using enclosures(sealed)... due to lack of room in the back of my / his truck...
we werent playing a bass song... but rather a semi spl / sq test at the same time... ill admit he out bumped me and his sq did sound better... i cant wait till i upgrade my doorspeakers to alpine type r's or better... if anyone can tell me whats better... all i have ever heard as far as door speakers go is sony...

I used to have the Old ES Mobile's that sony used to make, I dont care who thinks that sony was always crap, cause back in the 90's they made some nice Car speakers... and these 5x7's were no exception.... Now they arent really that great

Go for a set of components and amp instead of just coaxials. Play with the aiming/placement and you'll be golden :)

^ I agree... you will be Much happier with components :)

And I've never said Sony was always bad... Just the new stuff.
I tell everybody that they are riding their name from back when they used to be top of the line.

If you want some components that will blow you away for a decent price... look at the Fusion PowerPlant series... I honestly don't think that there are many that can compete for less than $150bucks :thumbsup
