Me and my friend chris wired up my system last night but could not get the Sub to work. After testing all teh cables, he came to the conclusion that it wasn't working because the radio wasn't turning on the RCA's. My kenwood head unit is only about a year old. If anyone knows how i could get the radio to switch on the RCA's, i'd be thankful.

to make sure that it really is that you could attatch the remote wire to a positive lead, or the battery and see if that turns the amp on... If it does then yea he was right, but if it doesnt I would have to think that your in for a bit more trouble than just your HU's Remote Turnon

if i understand right you are saying there is no signal coming from the rca output correct? first make sure you are not hooked into an aux input pair. is the amp turning on at all?

thats what i thought at first too, but I think if the Amp isnt "Turning on" the RCA's that has to do with the REM wire, but if it isnt sending Signal through the RCA's they are probably bad or the RCA outs on the HU is turned off/not selected or Bad

I know some HU's have a sub on/off selection in the options, but dont really know for sure if the Kenwood's do. If the amp isnt turning on at all, i would think it isnt geting a signal from the remote turn on wire. If the amp turns on, but no signal is being sent to it, then there is probably a problem with the RCA's.

And before you two go jumping to conclusions, double check every single connection. Battery posotive, inline fuse holder, connections at amp, ground connection, rca's are plugged into the HU, and the remote turn on is in the REM wire.

^^^^ just a side note here, but i think we all covered the bases on what could be wrong with this issue... I want to give everyone a slap on the back for being smart , concerned, and helpful young adults lol :attitude

When we hooked it up, we made sure everything was where it was supposed to be for the most part. Its possible we may have missed something, but not likely. I'm thinking that there may be something wrong with the fuse holder.
