Hi Everyone,
I was looking at some sony xplode decks and they had sub level and a bass level and i was wondering if i install that head unit that i could turn down the bass in the cabin of the car and turn up the bass in the trunk fith these features.

yes, you can control both, however sony is definatly not a head unit that i would go with, (you can get better for the same $). If you did, it is pointless to turn up the bass for your door speakers because it simply presents more distortion which your sub(s) can make up for, especially if they are stock.

I have an old Sony Xplode HU that came with the car. Its the 7700 series. At first I absolutely hated it and in all honesty still do. It came with the car when I purchased it and as far as an all-around cheap head-unit its really not that bad. It has front/rear/sub rca outputs 2volts. A basic eq setup. Some DSQ settings to alter sound a little. If I had to purchase a head-unit I'd definately get a Pioneer. One in particular that has been catching my eye is the DEH-P880PRS which can be found for around 300 dollars if I remember correctly.

The brands that will be of better quality than that Sony will be Alpine, Pioneer, Panasonic, Kenwood, and Eclipse. For $200, you will probably be able to get a middle model from any of those brands.

^ and JVC... and even though there are mixed emotions here about it Jensen (doesn't have all the eye appeal of some others, but good solid decks)
