ok, im the kinda guy that likes no frills head units, jobs that do things well, and when i say no frills i dont mean a lack of features, i mean lack of nav, lack of bluetooth but i do like video and usb/sd card readers....so maybe its not a total lack of frills, i guess i mean that i like my hu to do audio/video and do it well......i have always been a pioneer guy, and wayback i used to dig kenwood but that was before video, now i want to say a little something about the Jensen, yea thats right Jensen vm-9311ts..........very solid performer, loaded with what i want, nothing of what i dont.......the bonus is i can get 2 of them for what a comparable pioneer unit costs........just some pre beddy time thoughts for ya.....

I tend to agree with you on that one actually..i've seen many of these installed. The picture quality is very nice on the screen IMO.

Well for the money that you pay for one pioneer you can buy two jensen hu's so when one breaks you can put in the other one :sm29:

Smoker, I definately Agree!
Over the last couple years Jensen has been reworking many of their line up and has improved a lot while still keeping an affordable price.
Example: Jensen (Audiovox owned...Yes I said Audiovox owns them), is still in litigations over many of the features that are now on many in dash video units. Why you ask? Because they invented and patented a lot of the technology... and Yes Pioneer is one of the companies they are in dispute with.

i had actually installed about 6 different video units before deciding to carry them and i am really impressed with them, it took a lot for me to put aside my preconceived notions about jensen (even though at one point in time they were a name to be reckoned with....in the 70's anyway, so dont dispute this unless you were alive in the 70's)and face the fact that they make a nice head unit

Jensen was quite a good H/U in the 70's, but had a falling away to a lesser name in the later 80's as they were tying to cut costs and ended up with inferior units. In the early 90's Audiovox bought them out and slowly started to improve the units to what we have today... A good product at a decent price. Now they just need to consentrate on the rest of their line (speakers, subs, amps)
