I have a kx300.2 that has been laying around the house for quite some time since I got my 600.1. The other day I was offered a Kicker Impulse IX406, 1999 model that is pristine in condition. My second amp was a 352xi that was was underrated by atleast a hundred watts, can I expect the same from this amp? Or would you even trade? The 300.2 is every bit as powerful as my 600.1. I would venture to say it is the same amp, but there are some differences in features.

I guess the real question is, do you have a need for the kicker or would it just be laying around?

No, I have a need for it. I have been wanting an amp to power my mids and highs for some time now. I am pretty sure I will make the trade, all else fails, I can trade it or sell it for something else. The 300.2 has been back and forth on reliablity anyway, so I think I will atleast be getting a stable amp. BTW, the other guy is aware of the problems with the 300.2, the left channel goes in and out. He told me that he wasn't looking for that much power so he can just run one channel LOL.

actually i'll be using quite a bit power and both channels for the xxx mids, and the tweeters will be running off the headunit. ;) if all else fails, i'll send it to tracy at kicker. he's a great guy and real cool about stuff.

Sweet. Like I said, I got the amp fixed, so at the moment, both channels are up and going. :thumbsup So power should be of no issue.

If you have a use for it and you're just sitting on the other one, you'll now be one step ahead.

Yeah, kinda what I was figuring. I have not used the 406 before, and more than anything was looking for someone to chime in with input on the amp? I suppose I should have written it up differently. :help:
