Next month or so, I'll be doing a sound deadening weekend. I decided I would like to get SecondSkin products. Now I just need to figure out which products I'm using.
Obviously everything needs to be Damplifier'ed. They also have Overkill (=Ensolite?) and the Luxury Liner/Rattle Pad. For some reason, which I may find out when I pull the interior out, I get water on my floor pan. So I think I'll need the closed cell Overkill for that. I was thinking of using the Luxury Liner or Rattle Pad for my doors, and if I decide to, for everything under my dash.
I don't have any experience with where to use what and how to apply sound deadening, so any advice is very appreciated. Thanks guys!

Edit: Also, how do you determine how much you're going to need? Should I just measure the truck width/length and get the square feet as an estimate?

Many times the sound deadening itself depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles require little to no sound deadener with others needing tons of it.

We've found the cheapest easiest way to find where sound deadener is required is go out and play it at nearly full volume (without clipping) and stand outside of the vehicle (windows up).... Hear sound, feel air... that's where you start.

Mmmm, that's a good idea. I'll have to try that when I get the sub back in!

if you need to find weather seal leaks, you can also use a piece of paper and run it along the window edges etc.. and watch for flutter. It's easier than trying to "feel" for it, since that can be very misleading.

Cling wrap over the seals works good too... you can see the air bubble.

I prefer to sink the car into a swimming pool and watch for the air bubbles in the pool, while the stereo is cranked up to near full volume.

Ohh, that's probably the most fool proof way right there. You'll KNOW where your air leaks are.
