man, now your going back, the co230 is exactly that 2 channel 30 watts per channel and the co2100 is 2 channel 100 per channel....i remember when these amps first came out.....it was cool that everyone could afford orion but then it was disappointing because they made orion affordable for everyone......

do you sleep better knowing it cant cause any harm? there ok and better than a lot of stuff out there but they introduced them at a time when it was truly stellar to have orion amplifiers and they were comparitively a dissapointment.

would it be wise just to invest in a decent 500x2? to push the subs?

the cobalt series was Orion's attempt at entry level amplifiers. A step below even the GT line of amps.
They weren't all MilSpec compoennts inside, and lacked a lot of what made the other Orion amplifiers something to want, but they are decent for entry level.
Just nothing amazing.
