I just got a 97 yukon and have 6 1/2 stock speakers in the doors and a tweeter in the front of each armrest. I want to step up from my currnet 2 way a/d/s 236IS set and get something with more midbass and overall output. I will be running these off a xenon 200.2 phoenix gold amp. I love the sound quality of the a/d/s set but i want something better with more output. Should i go 2ways using qlogic kicks or use 2 ways and use the door locations or should i go to a 3 way set and do mids/tweets in kicks and midbass in door location?
Also i was thinking of rainbows or mbquarts line. I've got around $400 to 500 to spend. what do you think?
MB quart premiums w/ or without the add a woofer
MB quart QSC's w/ or without the add a woofer
Rainbow cmx power line extreme 465 w/ duel woofers
Or what do you recommend?? Thanks!

i have the 246cs's as a rear fill. i feel they are way to harsh, they make my eyes squint when listening to it. but as for my 346cs's, they're very smooth, but when i want to jam out they can get loud and clear. Love ' em. depending what you listen to.
rainbows are a good bang for he buck if you can get your hands on 'em.
arc's are nice
xetec's
MB quarts
CDT(Expensive)
but first, i'd change that amp.

in the doors the space is very limited the window when down is 2 1/4 depth so keep this in mind when buying mid base speakers. unless you want to modifi the doors and the door panels. i used my factory locations i replaced the tweeters and the 6 1/2 with kenwoods i reangled the tweeters using hot glue sticks and glue to hold them in place.(read my post door speakers)i don`t use the back door speakers but the rear 4x10 i do for fill. good suv

a decent 3 way set is going to cost you.
its also going to take a lot more work for good positioning/installation.
look at the Rainbow Profi 3 way setup
also forget about factory locations if you go 3 ways.
ven with two-ways, you'll want to use the kick pods
