This is not to say that I will buy these, but I am just wondering on everyone's opinion on Rockford Fosgate products when it comes to subs? For SQ purposes, not SPL because I am not looking to compete.

RF: better stuff out there for the money. especially for SQ. see the thread in gen disc about the Fi subs for an example.

Sony: total shite. avoid like herpes.

Not a fan of XPlod I infact HATE them... But i have heard some of the older Fosgate products and they arent bad for SQ but you can get better sound for less money... I would go to http://www.AscendantAudio.com and check out their Assasin Line... They sound amazing

Sony Xploited is more along the lines, once they earned a name for themselves back in the early 80's they have been robbing people ever since.

As an example, if you're into computers, i'm sure you've seen the price difference between the Sony's and comparable equipment.
As for RF some good, some not so good and better CAN be had for the money.

Fusion has products for all taste/ pocketbooks and has always been great SQ potential.
Cerwin Vega has some nice subs for that type of ap too.
And Hifonics/ Maxxsonics are definately worth looking at.
These are just a few in addition to what was mentioned.

In my area, we have Lightning Audio, Strike and Bolt, Alpine, RF, Crossfire, Alphasonik, Kicker, JL, and what else? Of course there is sony, and Pioneer, regular and premier, but overall the local selection is pretty limited. Oh I forgot about there being Diamond audio as well.

Out of your local choices for what you're looking for the best choices on the list are: Alpine, Kicker, JL, Diamond
