This may be true, but the fourth "band" is narrower than the 6th order bandpass. ;)

I think Im just going to build both at the same time. lol

I need to buy a circle jig for a router or make one like this week :( My Uncle came over and took his and his other toys home as hes being a jerk :argh

Typically a 6th order will be a narrower band of response, and it tends to be very highly tuned, usually around 55-70Hz for large gain peaks. A 4th order is very flexible, but the more output gain you want from it, the more peaky it gets, and the less smooth the response. This also tends to limit you to higher 55Hz range tuning as well, but you can tune a 4th order lower, and get less gain from it, making it actually sound decent.

Where are you finding your information on TL and 6th order boxes for these projects?
Have you done all of the math for both of these designs yet to get an idea of the box sizes?

i think its gonna be very difficult to design any bandpass or deffinatly a TL box to fit in a berretta. bandpasses are dangerous and i have smoked many subs building them. just like kiki said there very peaky when used to create extreme spl. and if you exceed the freqencys around what its tuned the subs will go out of controll. i might still have some pics of what happend to a few directed subs when we put them in a 4th order and played a sweep.

Im not tuning for extreme SPL.

I also will only run in intended frequency ranges.

As for the slopes etc, heres some model:

First the 4th Order. Notice the pass band is narrow and VERY peaky:

Now heres the 6th Order box. I consider this to be more musical, which is my goal here. By leveling out the chambers and not making peaking frequencies I try to keep the dip in the middle as low as possible:

And for yucks, heres the vented box. Notice the port gain:

Now heres the sealed. Smooth man, smooth...

5th orders are the least musical of any box type with the possible exception of going a step further to an 8th order. They sound like absolute ass, and are one note wonderboxes. Your charts are also anechoic, and don't account for cabin gain at all, which makes them pretty much meaningless to be frank. This is why I don't like relying on software to design a box, or at least not free software.
In any event however, best of luck. I'd love to see progress pictures of the enclosures.
