Post by dkmons32 »

Hey guys im looking to get a security system for my 2001 IS300. Some people have told me Viper and Clifford are the best, what do you all think? Im looking to probably get the stuff off ebay spending 200-300 dollars tops. Any suggestions?

Viper and Clifford are both produced by the same company... Directed Electronics and they also make Python, Hornet, DesignTech, Valet, Avital, Orion and they are all about the same. Only real difference is in the features, but as far as reliability... you're buyin the same product.
So in the end figure out what features you want and what range and shop em all for the best price, cause what it always comes down to is: If a criminal wants it bad enough... they'll take it.

a security system and detatched faceplate is enough to detere the vast majority of people who steal because of convience. I firmly believe the reason i still own my equipment is because of my alarm and always taking my faceplate off. i go to school in flint, mi, and am from youngstown, oh. both being some of the worst cities crime-wise in all america.

i can't wait to graduate and move somewhere where i dont have to check my car every morning to make sure the worst hasnt happened. and i would like to be able to keep my faceplate on when i go into a walgreens for a second too...
