MB Quart was good stuff the last time I bought it. Even their lower line I would consider before some brand name higher lines. Just make sure you match the speakers rated power, don't force them to fit the amp... i.e. don't over/under power the speakers by very much. Less expensive product lines show their value with misuse quickly, but if taken care of they can't last as long as any other more expensive line.

I bought some MB Quart RCE-216 components for my 2002 silverado ext. cab and I need an amp to power them. What would you suggest? I plan on adding 2 10" subs so would it be wise to get just one amp to power my entire system or use two seperate amps. I already have a Rockford Fosgate 501 bd monoblock. It pushes 300 X 1 @4ohm, 500 x 1 @ 2 ohm. This is new to me as far as amps are concerned. What would be some good 10" subs to get since I am limited on space under my rear seat.
Thanks for your help.

One amp to push a system is plenty if everything matches up to your liking, and you are not overpowering anything. I would probably just get a second since you already have the 501bd, which would be great for a pair of 10's. As far as what subs, what are you looking for in your bass response, SQ, SPL? How much do you want to spend on subs?

I too would just look into getting a second amp to power the mb's maybe something like the Alpine you mentioned previously or maybe a Hifonics txi4006 or zxi4006.
But like brent said now we need to know what kinda sound you're looking for and price range, because otherwise we could be at this for a while.

What do you mean by SQ and SQL? I listen to a wide range of music from rap, hip-hop, r&b, rock, alternative, techno, latin. I do not plan on getting a custom box made but I thought about getting a prefab from the internet. I think SubThump has some. As far as price range I would probably spend about $200 for the subs. I may spend a little more if you guys think I would benefit from it.

Well it sounds like you want what everyone else wants, a good combination of sq and spl. What two4fifteen is saying is that a custom box makes all the difference in the world in how your bass sounds, responds, ect. If you have the tools you can build one for considerably less than a prefab. Hell, there are guys on this forum that build them for around prefab prices.

For your subs, check out the good bad and ugly list in the FAQ section. Pick a few that are in your price range, repost, and we will help you tear through them.

SQ= Sound Quality: Refined sound equaling that of a sound stage
SPL= Sound Pressure Level: Usually one note wonders that are only about hitting hard with no real sound quality
So you seem to be looking for a good street bump with a mixture of the 2
As far as your price range, this is a pay to play hobby and usually ends up being what you can afford to spend and not what you want to spend, saving up is always better in the long run than just getting whatever you can right now and wishing that you saved up later. :thumbsup
