Switching the remote wire

I found some rocker switches on Parts Express and I thought it'd be a nifty idea to switch the remote wire to each amplifier so I actually have an on/off button for each amp. It'd be helpful when I only want one on at a time (tuning). Would anyone recommend against do something like this due to sparking or anything when using the switch? The ones I found are rated 5A, 125VAC. Not sure if the remote wire is AC or DC, but they have very low voltages so I figured it wouldn't be too much trouble.
Any opinions on this??

ive done it before nothing bad ever came of it... Only reason i did it was if my father wanted to drive my truck he doesnt like the "Crap" coming out of the back of it lol so i would say its ok to do that its just i dont know why u want that unless u are doing it though... Its fun to have just i dont think i would do it anymore

We've got a kid up here that here that has his daily driver amp and his comp amps.
Comp amps are wired through switches under the dash.

now that makes sense to me... but if he is running one amp for his subs and another for his Highs then it makes no sense to me to be able to turn off your highs

I had a friend back in the day who had a real piece for a car. Everything was on toggles, lol, so he went ahead and wired his remote to a toggle. Never had a problem with it. Should be fine.
