Sorry - I've been offline, basically.

My motherboard died in my laptop... my internet connection on my home PC isn't worth even trying sometimes... and probably won't be for several weeks now, until I solidify a new day job (that I've been working on for months) until I do get that nailed down.

Word on the Statement series on the whole is "Delay, delay, delay", unfortunately. We've faced every delay possible, including a delay over a month long, getting our baskets - imported, and stuck in customs on a shipping container holding bananas that apparantly didn't have the right paperwork (and my guess would be, after 5 weeks - those bananas aren't worth much anymore :p ).

Good news is that we pushed our little guys (codename Response series for now) forward... and I can't say I was as excited about them, but they have turned out so good that they ended up creating another delay in the Statement series, so that we could build in some of the Response series genetics into the big XBL^2 Statements... in the form of more BL and a shorting ring... to further enhance vented box output (in other words, addressing the question of "if JL's W7 is so great - why isn't anyone using them in SPL competition?") [since the W7 is also a high output, high excursion SQ sub, and we in fact used it quite a bit in benchmarking, to ensure we could exceed it's performance].

So - unsure on a date for the Statement now - but we're in the final weeks before delivery on the Response series (just small box / high output 10's to start with).

Hope that helps!

thanks..
try to keep me posted if ya can.
heck I'd even be willing to test out portotypes if needed.
I'm not ready for one in the car yet, but it's getting there, and it'd be nice to have the fifteen in the next few months.

Some info:
The Response - 10" size first, 12" size already prototyped, but no ETA.
The Statement - 12" size first, 15" size following - undetermined if we'll do a 10".

With the Statement, it's XBL^2 enabled, Xmax around 32-33mm one-way, and we initially pursued a "W7-esque" response out of it at first - and it does remain that it models similar to the W7 in similar enclosures. However, our design changes I spoke of before came when we realized that we weren't handicapped to having to have a BL of only 12 like the W7 is - we upped it to near 20, so it's even MORE of a standout in vented boxes, without handicapping it in sealed boxes (Xmax is still huge, Fs is very low, and the extra motor strength helps it work well in micro-enclosures). And it has some old-school SQ tricks as well, like a big, fat copper shorting ring sandwiched between the two gaps - actually also helping to magnetically separate the gaps.

Odd as it may seem, a couple of these ideas - shorting ring and increasing BL - came from the smaller Response sub, which doesn't use XBL^2 but rather uses a nicely designed overhung alignment, that we built in a good amount of BL (Still keeping in the scope of a SQ / SQL sub), and built in a shorting ring in a neat arrangement that actually lines the magnets (as opposed to a pole cap, or sleeve) to enhance the sub, and built in a big 'ol fat motor so that efficiency is way up there, and again performance in vented and sealed boxes is there, and enclosure requirements are also microscopic (but on the little sub, you don't have to worry about having 1/4 cu.ft. worth of massive motor and basket to fit in there too :p ). It's also got a bunch of nice little touches that we'll try to highlight on the website (like the super-hot USA-made voice coil that we outsource to a voice coil specialist in Florida that represents their flagship type product  ).

So, that's them in a nutshell I guess.
