Bose IMO for everything is overpriced for what you get. There are plenty of other brands that can do better for the same amount of money or less.

What is his price range? I've never looked into Bose car audio before, though.

bose dosent have car audio, bass tubes?if they do stary away from it, sales men get huge commison on bose, and bose is a huge scam check this out http://www.theinfonail.com/hometheater/bose.html

thats just one page, its funy cause i think the majority of boses money goes to legal teams, and marketing(they sue the living crap out of people who they fear) and another funny thing try finding specs on there home audio stuff that they publish, those little "cube" speakers go up to like 10,000 hertz and cannot produce any midbass and you dont get any tweeters, heres another link that really exposes them.http://home.earthlink.net/~busenitz/bs.html

and man if you think thats bad check out this monster cable article http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2559

sure ya didn't mean BOSS? as in BOSS Audio?
they suck even more than Bose actually.
avoid bass tubes if you want a quality system.
the only thing tubes are really good for is a cheap self-powered solution to add bass to a factory system where space is a big concern.
pickup trucks are a good example, when you have to stuff a sub behind the bench and still have room for tools and such.

actually Bose home audio stuff is sort of a standing joke in the home audio community.
nobody really takes Bose seriously. They got a big name from one pair of speakers (the 901 series) for their accuracy for classical music back in the 1980s.
Of course, they were $1,500 each at the time, and consisted of something like 28 3" speakers in a tuned enclosure. They badly needed a sub for any sofrt of low end extension, and needed a good amplifier to sound half way decent even at that.

Really for the money there is much better stuff out there than Bose.. even at home.

no hi's no lows? must be BOSE. Bose sucks. period. great marketing, all the normal people (non-Audiophiles) think Bose is awesome! (well I hear them on the radio all the time, man that Bose stuff sounds good) friggin retards. Bose home theater, what a joke. I could fart in a coffe can and it would sound better.

My friends dad has them 901's

Some fancy amp and tape deck from back then also.

I was highly impressed with the sound. It did seem lacking on the low end, but knowing that it was a collection of small speakers I understood why...
