I got a power accoustic lt 620/2 amp... not the best but it was working great powering my 2 infinity 12's... but then they other day i went to hook it up and as soon as i connected the power cable.. boom blows out both the fuses... so i figured the fuses were just getting old and stressed so i put in 2 new ones and it blows then as soon as i connect the power cable. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? thanks

yup there is something wrong fuses dont just blow for no reason. u sure you got your power and ground on the right side? its deffinatly a short. so start checking wire somewhere in your power and ground you have a short. or its the amp.

I got them hooked up right... i got another amp that i hook up and it works fine... but this one just started doing it... when i touch the power cable to the power terminal it sparks then blows out the fuses... just started for no reason...

Try this... Hook them in but disconnect the power line from the battery and then hook it back up to the battery... If it does it again... its your amp

Check your ground very closely. It is sparking because you have a problem either with the power or the ground. Check you power connections on the battery as well. Where is the amp grounded. You hooked the other amp up to the exact wiring that the power acoustic is on? If so, then probably bad amp?

Sometimes they do. Before totally giving up you may have a local shop bench test it. Sorry to hear that, hopefully the problem will come to light soon for you, and you won;t have to get a new amp.

hmm is there any way i can test it myself with a voltometer thing... if so what sections of the circuit board should i test?

You can check continuity (spelling)? between the solder lines. Look for any charring on the board. If you take pictures of the board and post them someone here may be able to see something.

i'll do that later. i looked a little bit for charring and seen none unless theres some on the otherside of the board which looks liek it would be hell to get too... but i'm gonna go down to the lake for a bit i'll post some pics later. thx guys.
