the remote wire is blue, your cd players manual should tell you what wires are what if the wires arent labled..

sorry im a newb with this stuff. so your saying that the main big power plug going to the HU has a blue remote wire in it? so when i find it i just splice it to the trunk where the amp is?
Also, do the rcas go the the front or rear rca slot on the hu?

well is that set of rca's for just a sub? or is it for your front speakers? How many outputs are there on your headunit, ie front, rear, non-fading

the rca's are for the amp. There are two sets of rca on the HU rear and front. I wanted the amp to power the front speakers, then bridge the other two channels on the amp to one sub. So if this is the case would I put the rca in the front slot then?

yeah, but you will need another set to run to the rear channel for the sub. I guess you could get some splitters, but I would get another set.

Remote wire is blue with a white stripe, not just blue. Unless you have a real low end amp, in which case it might not even have a remote wire.

so i just cut the blue stripped wire on the head unit plug and then just splice it back to the amp?

Yes. But don't use electrical tape for this :) Get some connectors and crimp them for a good connection. Then wrap some tape over that for some protection.

or solder it and heatshrink for a better connection if you have a solder iron. They are about $10 at Radio Shack for a basic unit.
