Hey guys I'm redoing my interior and I'm wondering if there's some way I can just paint or dye my original carpet because I'm changing from blue to black. Any ideas? I'd really like to figure something out so I don't have to buy a whole nother preformed piece, or lay my own black carpet over it. If you know of anything I can do let me know please, thanks.

Spray paint works wonders!! Just make sure you use all the same sheen, might look funny

EDIT: However, that carpet dye is not all that expensive(thought it would be more, should have looked first)

hey, how would I go about doing this? My carpet sucks, its black but greyish from dirt. Do I just get it steam cleaned and then dye it or how clean does it have to be? Im also assuming you just spray the dye with the carpet in your car correct? or no?

Why not hit a few junkyards?

Dye might work but it sure seems like MORE work than just finding a new carpet @ the junkyard...

When I first get a vehicle I always pull the seats and carpet out and spray them down with a good carpet cleaner and give them a good scrubbin..

Then I toss them in the back of the truck and run them down to the car wash and spray them down with the high pressure soap setting... Basically you just want to power wash the living crap out of them...

Then I drag them over to the vaccum and suck up all the water I can...

After that, I run my hand over the carpet fluffy it up, then I let it dry over night installing it the next day.

Not only does it get all the stains out, it gives them that new car fluffy and smell... :happy055:

Joey are you sure spray paint won't flake off? I was thinking spray paint would be simple, but would it flake off?

Thanks for that link, Justin.
