The Danger Ranger is damaged :help: . We had an awful rainstorm Friday and I ended up hydroplaning and went sailing off a steep bank. Completely spun around, flip the truck, it rolls once and falls straight down about 10 feet where it landed flat on the wheels and slammed into a huge oak tree. Somehow by the lord's good graces I came out of that without a scratch or a bruise on me. Then I crunk the truck back up and it still ran and drove fine, the alignment isn't even off. After some spinning I drove it out of the ditch and marched on home. Get a couple of miles down the road and I hear the valves clattering. Stopped and got out of the truck, looked underneath it and my oilpan had gotten busted in the wreck. The truck was pretty well destroyed way past what it's worth, so I figure I'll just keep going to get it closer to the house before I have to retire the little bastard and pull it to the junkyard. I end up driving it 40 miles with no oil in it and it's STILL (noisily) running when I get home. The next day for shits and giggles I pull the pan, TIG weld a plate to cover up the hole, and top the oil off. Crank the truck up and it fires right up, and after the oil circulated the damn thing didn't even click. No bearing or valvetrain noise, truck doesnt even smoke. So I guess I'll end up getting a new truck fairly soon and selling the Ranger for scrap metal, granted that even though it still runs I can't say I can trust it's longevity after that abuse. If I get the ol camera back I'll take some pics to post, though.

That is awesome dude!!!! That your fine first and foremost, but that the truck went thru all of that and is still running!! FORDS RULE!!! I would mount that mother up on a pedestal as a trophy!

Wow, glad you made it out OK and not injured through an adventure as crazy as that.

Glad you made it through that ordeal unscathed, but..in retrospect, since you sound like you loved that old thing, get it bronzed, and park it in the front yard...sure the neighbors will bitch, but you will forever see the truck that started with no oil. Pure unadulterated bliss I tell you.

rangers are awesome!! i used to own 2 of them at the same time, a red 87 and a green 93, i always told my daughter i was starting my own power rangers team........

Amazing that you did that, even more amazing that it started right back up, even more amazing that the previous statement that it still is fine after all that... Give it to NASA they could use it on the next Moon landing mission, it prolly will never break on them, and they somehow always find a way to break everything.
