Well I saw Smokers project and decided that i should do a fiberglass project also. The trouble is, I don’t know the first thing about fiber glassing.
How should I start?

thanx guys checked out those sites and they seem clear enough i'll get the materials tomorrow, so that i could start next weekend i will post pics

I never liked the edu link with the scruffy kid cause he kinda did it really sloppy but it gives you the basic idea of how to do it.

sometimes its easier to build up your thickness from the back too....this allows a smoother front to coat and sand before paint.....this isnt always best because depending on how your design is it can leave you pretty thin at the edges....

back coating is a great idea but i my arm hairs usually thank me when i dont have to pull resin off them lol

well i bought the materials today and i will probaly get started tomorrow.
i am building a backdash enclosure for four 6.5 speakers
this is what i have so far
fiberglass matting
resin + hardener
bodyfiller + hardener
1.5 inch brushes x 2

what am i missing and take nothing for granted cause its the first time i am doing this

mdf for making rings to mount the speakers to

cups to mix resin in

sticks to stir resin

rubber gloves

sandpaper and lots of it

you probably dont need the fiberglass mat for this project just an old t-shirt and a couple or three coats or resin should do it....
