I will be ordering a 6.5" set of component speaks online to match my IDMAX. My local dealers have nothing but garbage. The set will have 100rms and will be installed in the stock locations in the door. I am looking for something that isnt too sharp/bright. But i am looking for clarity before midbass(not to say its not important). My budget is about $200.

So far ive seen the following online in my range...

JL XR650Csi
Alpine Type X
cdt ef61cf

Which is the best deal assuming they all cost the same? Should i consider anything else?

What do you guys think?

RE re comp set sounds like a good choice also. but i think any of those would be a pretty decent set.

you can get em on ebay for like 220-230 shipped. Great speakers btw, some people might say their harsh at times but I like em and they get loud

Yea ive seen great prices on the JL's... Can anybody who has heard these speakers describe any difference in characteristics at all? So far it looks like The JLs are the way to go? How important is the warranty for these kind of products? I could get the CDT for that price at an authorized dealer...

You could also take a look at Focal comps.

are they any good at that price? I had heard that entry leve focal was not that good?

Who told you that, MTX? lol. Even entry level Focal is a well built speaker.

If you buy JL online, you won't get any warranty. If you buy anything from an authorized dealer, you usually get a year warranty.

I personally have never heard any of those three, but judging by their other products, either CDT or JL.

What do you guys think about DLS R6A's? I hear good things about Iridiums... Would you say they at the level of the JL's and CDT's i mentioned?
