my friend wants me to put a neon in his sub box cuz it has a plexi window and he bought one with a cigarette outlet plug on it and i was wondering if i could just cut it off and plug the pos. wire into the remote wire on his amp and the neg. to the ground. would that work? if it wont how should i wire it?

Its better to, if you are cutting it not to run it off the amp, run a line from the ciggarette lighter, and it will turn on every time the car is on... I just did it last night, make sure though that u mark your wires appropriately

What kind of car?
If not you can wire a dedicated switch to it so that it will turn off when u want to...

Use the amp. Run the positive wire to the remote turn on, and the ground to ground, obviously. Just make sure you put a fuse in the hot wire, just in case.

I wouldnt run it to the remote wire.

Im sure Justin has probably done this. But Im always fearful of pulling to much amperage thru remote wire and burning it up.

Neons do not draw much power. Before I used the relay that Ryan sold me, I had two amps and 3 neons wired off the remote wire.

Well i can actually say that i did draw too much off my amp and had a small fire off of my remote witre and Neon wire that i had hooked into it, then again i was using a BOSS amp lol so i dont think my opinion counts here.
