What's the name of this movie

ok the movie is about like this guy who is in a mental hospital or w/e and in his head he has like seven characthers all who turn out to be him because he's a scitzo.. anyway these seven or 8 or 6 w/e the number is .. these charachters all are in a hotel and they realize they have something in common,etc.. and like they start getting killed, and towards the end of the movie you find out its all a made up world in this one guys head, and some of the charachters he made up are named like after states...
I know this is a horrible description i seen it when it was sorta new like 3 years ago and i can't remember the name of it for the death of me please help :)

it may have been a good movie before reading wht happens in the first post. Now that I know what happens, why bother seeing it?
That'd be like seeing Memento after someone tells you the entire movie.. hehe

It's still worth seeing. Really good movie.
I don't see how you could possibly describe Memento to someone lol. They shot that movie so convoluted. There was an option on the DVD though to play it from front to back without any of the backtracking.

I always thought it was just gold. When he opens it doesn't "Ringo's" face glow gold/orange like? And then he takes a dramatic gulp and asks "Is that what I think it is?" or something? And usually when people see gold in the movies they are in awe and such. I dunno.
edit: Kevin that's an interesting link...I like the answer "the ear from Resevoir Dogs" lol
