this mtx sub is almost $7500, i mean seriously, this sub by itself better shatter every record in spl as well as sq for that price.

must not be good if they put it on pimp my ride. the best thing i ever seen them install was the fosgate power T2's in some like farm girl's van or something like that. she probably sold them the day after.

Yup, that show is definately more concentrated toward the pimp factor. But thats cool too, they just arne't really car audio enthusiasts.

well you have to take the fact that pimp my ride is A backed by MTV and B sponsored. i'm sure if they had control of the show they'd put good stuff in there. at the end of the show you always seen a list of sponsors. all those companies probably donated equipment. which means free advertising :P

THat sub on that show only did 130 dB in that install.
They were talking about how crazy loud it was?
Ive done well over that with a set of mediocre xmax 10's...
Given the right power in the right box that sub may be stellar. It just hasnt been done yet.
Plus with a $7k+ price tag there are better, louder and CHEAPER solutions out there!

Do a search on this forum for that sub. You will see it's been talked about before. One of the threads even got locked IIRC.

At the comp yesterday, I recorded a 129db on my freshly SQ tuned system. The one 13" sub with a measley 900w was just 1 db less than that 7500 buck sub and 8000 watts. Something is wrong here. And mine was tuned for SQ, not SPL.
