Well. I was looking into gettin a XXX 15. But what about the Adire tempest or shiva? I was thinkin i could save a bunch of money if i bought 2 of either sub. I would put them in a sealed box in the back of an s-10 blazer. How are both the tempest and shiva? would 2 of eithe of those sound good for the price? I wanna buy somethin adire or RE bc everybody where i live thinks that kicker, fosgate, and sony is the best stuff out there.

Also, i was looking on Adire's site about the shiva, and it says 2 shiva's wired in parallel equal a 2 ohm final impedance. I thought that (2) 4 ohm subs wired in parallel equaled 1 ohm final?............

When in parallel it's the ohm of the subs (in this case 4) divided by the number of subs (in this case two) which is 4/2=2.
A Shiva and Tempest are basically the same sub, except the Shiva is 12" and the Tempest is 15". Going with two Tempests would be pretty sweet. I'd prefer a single XXX or Brahma as they are more linear subs at high output volumes, but a pair of Tempests or Shiva's would still be a nice alternative if you can't afford a Brahma or XXX. But in any case, make sure you have enough power on tap to get the most performance out of your subwoofer combination.

A pair of shivas or tempests would take alot less power than a single 15" XXX... If you stuck with the shivas or tempests you could possibly use your stock charging system, with the XXX it would be very doubtful. If you have the extra money to upgrade your electrical and what not go with the 15" RE, if not go with the shivas or tempest! :s_thumbup

Im kinda strapped for $$ since im in college and whatnot. Lets just say, if i were to buy 2 tempests, would a fosgate 1501bd amp (1500x1 at 2 ohms) be too much for them in a sealed box? I can get the amp from a buddy of mine for $300. Or would that amp be to much for my electrical system to handle?

1500 watts would probably kill it... I wouldnt recommend going over 600 watts, or some where around there. I'd find a JBL BP 600.1, its a good cheap amp... :thumb:

I meant for 2 Tempests...i wouldnt power a single tempest w/ 1500 watts.

the 600.1 would be perfect for the Tempest, each would get 300rms. which would be pretty loud and sound awesome. id go for it, i have one, and im only goin to have 150rms, im having troubles with the amp right now so i cant tell you how it sounds at the moment, but i will asap. :P

I know, I meant it would kill your alternator... I wouldnt surpass around 600 watts (for the pair) unless you're planning upgrading your electrical system. :)
