hi, i remember an article on this site about the best and worst subwoofers to buy, i've been searching, but just can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if Visonik subs and amps are good or bad?

To anyone that cares about their equipment quality, it's junk. That's not to say you can't make it sound good or loud.

Cheap, built in China by small 8 year old girls burning their fingers off on substandard soldering equipment, so they can bring home a quarter at the end of the day because mommy promised them a cookie if she did...

For one thing, there's no engineering when you are talking about a company like that. It's just "clone the other companies that are like me" - which isn't a good thing when the "other companies like me" are manufacturing products with all the cheap compromises to make them cheap and still profitable to the person building them.
...it's like having someone pull the wool over your eyes - and then another company going "Hey, look at what that guy's doing! What a great idea! I'm going to do that too!" :help:

Second of all - when it comes to quality - it's low.
They aren't building it WELL and then selling it to you cheap - they wouldn't make any money.
They are pure businessmen, who see an opportunity in peddling cheap gear to people that don't know any better.
There's an opportunity in that, for sure. And they'll do whatever they can, to make it cheap, to make whatever shortcuts are necessary to still end up with "a speaker" at the end of the day, to maximize their profits, at the bottom-of-the-barrel price point they need to target (if they charged more - they'd begin competing against "real" subs, and would fail ).

There's a lot of natural laws of economics - basic, unavoidable, natural dynamics that happen without much possibility of "exception to the rule"...
You get what you pay for.

...until you get TOO "high end", and then you find there are almost as many businessmen waiting to take advantage of you there, as well. :help:
