Hey, Thanks! It took about 5 weeks of nights and weekends. (work during the day) to do complete install. About a month of planning too. Good luck!

Stock alarm system supported by unstable owner with multiple firearms and an Akita that loves to sleep in car.
Speaking of alarms, my partner in crime is currently working on somthing a little trick. He's making somthing that gives a shock like an "invisible fence" dog collar. It is attached to a strip of thin metal (foil-like) that mounts on the upper inside of the door handle. In other word, try to open door with handle and get zapped. Pretty cool stuff.

They had a similar item years back. If you touched the car (Metal area's) you got a shock.
To many lawsuits so they went out of business.
Kiki will know more about this. It was probably during the time he was heavy into car audio :)

Cool,...this is only on the handles,..just enough zap to make theif woder what other booby traps are inside. My system is loaded with razorwire personally. I pitty the person that disassembles my car after stealing it. Couple surprises waiting inside. Couple spring loaded things in there too!!! When we put it all together, we were almost hoping someone would steal it so we could see the results of our efforts. I must say though, the 6X9 grills that I use to vent air into the trunk are the biggest theft deterrent I have!! No self-respecting theif wants 6X9's !!hehe

This is like the guy that broke into someones house and got trapped inside the garage for like week or something.
He didnt have any food or a bathroom.
So he sued the homeowner and won...

yeah I've seen a few similar tricks.. seen wire mesh on the driver seat, door handles, etc.. problem is that sucks up juice, and it's easy to short that out or ground it and killl the car battery.
I prefer the silent alarm with two way pager remote, and a good quality .45 ACP myself.
I'm currently using the factory alarm on my Jeep and tapping into that to add window roll up modules, a DEI dual stage impact sensor.
Pretty much makes the alarm about on par with most mid level aftermarket ones.
The dodge gets the compustar though, so I can mess with remote start, windows, locks, trunk, hood bolt, and linear actuators.. all the fun toys.
the Jetta looks very nice.
I like it.
