just checking to see if you guys think this might be a good idea. I know a guy who is willing to trade straight across my two Audison LRx2.150's, and my LRx1.400 for his McIntosh MC4000M. I had one of these amps back in 98, and it is by far the best amp I have ever owned.
retail, we are about 1000 out of what the McIntosh sold for new @ $3000. McIntosh ceased production of this amp 2-3 years ago and I have been looking for one ever since.
What do you think I should do
here are the specs:
Audison LRx2.150 80x2
Audison LRx1.400 350x1

McIntosh MC4000M 100x4, 300x2


The reason I am doing this is the Mc seemed to have headroom from hell, but these little audison's don't seem to be gettin it done.

Personally I like McIntosh amps better than Audisons. Macs are built like tanks.

If the amp was in good condition (which I'm sure it is) and can fill the shoes of all those amps, I'd go for it personally. It's getting hard to find amps like the MC4000M anymore.

yea, I had one about 10 years ago, it was bar none, the best amp I have ever owned.

I will get:
100w/ch for the mid/tweet
100w/ch for the midbass
600w bridged for the sub

Overall I think this amp is a better value.

Sleek black and silver ends, and the black plexi with the two blue wattmeters, you know it'll look sexy in your trunk.

I will see this guy this weekend..hopefully. If I do, I will tell him the deal is on. We will see what comes of it. If not, I found one on another website for a not so expensive price. I will let you guys know. If I have to buy this other amp, I will have my amps for sale soon.
