keep in mind im a student on a budget.

im trying to pick out a head unit and ive found two that i like a lot:
Alpine CDA-9851
JVC arsenal KD-AR870

does anyone know if u can just plug in ur mp3 player directley into the usb slot of the JVC HU and play it like that? seems too simple to be true.

also which HU would be better to go along with the infinity kappa perfect series speakers i want and two 10" MTX thunder 8000 series.

what kind of amp should i get to power the subs? cheap but good (the holy graile...i know)

Which one are you goingwith? You already have the mtx subs and want to and add the perfect sub?? I would say the 8000 series is more geared toward spl, as the perfects are SQ subs. Ether cd player would work for you. The jvc is an mp3 player so just burn you cds to mp3 format so you dont have to worry about carrying you mp3 player around.

Im a fan of JVC...

This would probably work soooo much easier if you had a total budget in mind...

I've seen complaints about the recent alpine product lines from folks.
the JVC or a Pioneer would be a better bet I think.
