ohm question

Quick question... I am planning on purchasing these bose speakers, http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=151_outdoor_inthebox#tabs. I was trying to find what the ohms on these speakers were and i came across this on the manual-
Compatibility
• Compatible with amplifiers or receivers rated 10 to 100 watts per channel at 4 to 8 ohms
• 50W IEC continuous power handling at 6 ohms
I want to run them off of a regular amp, but dont understand what ohm these speakers are.

As long as your amp puts out less than 100W at 4 ohms you are fine.

It sounds like they are 6 ohm, but they should probably be 8 ohms.

ok, i kind of dont get this. When a normal speaker is say 4ohm, i thought you could only wire it at 4 ohm unless you had another speaker to wire it in parallel or series. So how can this be a 6 ohm speaker but be ran as a 4 ohm or 8 ohm??

The thing is, it's not run at 4 or 8 ohms. They are just using that so you can judge the amount of power going to the speaker a little easier.
