Is a 160A alternator capable of running a good amount of power? I know its based on the amps the amplifier draws but roughly how many watts could be run off that size alternator?...If its even possible to give that kind of an estimate.

I was running about 1500 watts on it at one time. Slight light dimming every now and then, but nothing major. You can run 1000 watts no problem on it.

You have to remember that even if you have a 2000w amp, you won't be sending anywhere NEAR that much power to the subwoofer 95% of the time. Music is transient in nature, and you would almost never be in a situation where the amplifier would ever actually be putting out it's maximum RMS power for more than a second or two, if even that much.
