amp question

this is omething i've never quite understood:
if i have a 2 channel amp, that does 100w x 2 @ 4 ohms 200x2 @ 2 ohms
i wire 2 SVC4 ohm drvers to it, will it see that as a 2 ohm load or 4 ohm load? or would it only see 2 ohms if i had a 2 ohm driver going to it per channel/

two 4ohm svc wired up would be 2 or 8

2 4ohm subs wired up to seperate channelswould cause this theoretical amp to run at 2 or 8ohms then?
thanks for clarifying that.

no each channel will see the loads independentley....if you have an amp that is 100x2 at 4 ohms and 200x2 at 2 ohms and you have 4 ohm svc subs....unless your amp is 2 ohm stable when bridged you will have to run the amp in stereo giving each amp a 4 ohm load.....unless of course you wired the subs in series which would produce an 8 ohm load. that would be ok bridged but not the best option

each channel is like a separate amplifier in a sense.
two 4 ohm subs, with one on each channel would be a 4 ohm stereo load.
now, if you bridge the amp and wire the two subs together, the amp will "see" half of the actual load, so two 4ohm subs in parallel would appear like a 1 ohm load, and the two subs in series would appear as a 4 ohm load..
exactly half of what the load actually is, electrically.
This has to do with how the power supply functions, using the negative voltage rail to supply half of the output waveform when the amp is bridged.
