Hey all Lake County, Florida just past a Noise ordinance bill that if
"The Law" can hear your
BUMP as little as 25 feet they'll ticket you. Here is a quote from the Orlando Sentinal
the Legislature tightened an anti-noise statute to make it among the strictest in the nation. Motorists playing a car radio or stereo loud enough to be plainly heard from 25 feet away could wind up with a $70 ticket.
Is this a little over the top or is this the same for you?

It is a little over the top. But how rude is the person driving down a residential area at midnight booming his stereo. Personally I think that they should be able to confiscate his car also.
But the reality is this. In Odessa,Tx a similar law was defeated 4 years ago. It was shown to be unjust because a garbage truck was just as loud and was not sited. The only reason it was challenged, was the child cited was the son of a prominent local attorney.
Personally, I don't care, I'm not being rude but I don't force others to listen to my stereo and I feel that they should be decent and show me the same respect. (but we can blame thier parents for not teaching basic manners)

hell yea!!! there are way too many parents out there that coddle to their children and give them the physical things they "didnt have" (sound familiar)...i think if you ask most good parents what they want their child to have that they themselves didnt have it wouldnt be stereo equipment it would be opportunity.

I have no idea what it is in my town. All i know is i can hear ppl bumping down my street at midnight. I dont think cops have too much of an issue with it...but i turn my stuff down when i come near cops or in a residential neighborhood anyways.

25' is plain insane.
A stock radio can easily get a ticket in your area. Its not just "bump" they are after.
Furthermore there are plenty of noisy exhaust systems and crotch rockets that are MUCH louder than car stereo's.
50' seems to be the norm. Also I have head about dB laws. Like a cops ears are good to guess a dB? lol right...
All I know is if I ever get pulled over I will ask the cop to prove I was 50' or more away. Cause usualy you wont be that far...

I didnt think I needed to elaborate my intentions on this matter. but to tell the truth I am the parent you refer to as I am ... Old. I just don't want to have any issues with the police so I want to be able to play my tunes loud and not dis anyone that is around my car. Oh and on the this note
the person driving down a residential area at midnight booming his stereo.
I'm usally in bed before 10pm so I wasnt even thinking about that.

I believe it is 50' here. But really it all depends on where ya are and what time of day it is. I always turn down the volume at night and while driving down residential sidestreets.

x2 its just plain respect.. i no if it was me sleeping and i had to get up early for work or w/e the case, and some ignorant ##### came through bumpin his sh#t i would be pissed too.
anything under 50 is plain bs... i like it here.. Oshkosh policy is if you are called in and a complaint is filed your a ticketed... so basicly dont' got bumpin too loud through those residential neighborhoods... You do however get tickets for exhausts/burnouts/etc very easily.
