Alpine type s or type r 6.5s/ comps or coax?

Which should I get. Id like somthing that can handle 115 rms or give or take 15 rms. i know the type s are only 40 and the R are only 50, but the type R components are 70 rms. Now can I wire the comps so that the amp sees a 4 ohm load on one channel? If so each tweeter+woofer will get 75 rms, 5 over the rated power handling which would be perfect. Im gonna use the right channel for the fronts and the left for the rears (i dont care about fading).

do you care about stereo seperation? youd be better off using the left channel for the left side and the right channel for the rright side.....you still cant fade but at least your stereo seperation has maintained its integrity


also with comps your crossover network will allow the amp to see the mid and tweet as one 4 ohm setup.....

as far as type s vs type r i have heard that the type s actually sound a little better but i personally have never heard either......

I heard em both, but in coax form. what do you mean stereo seperation? Like in certain songs when the sound goes to the left only or right only for a few seconds? Yeah thats kinda cool. If i can get loud enough comps for the front i wont buy rear mid bass speakers.

I like the sound of the S and the Rs but the power handling is the problem. Also will they be loud enough, i think they will, but i want em to be clean when they are loud.

id buy some elevation comps but they are too much, id like to spend 150 shipped but if i could get EA comps for like 250 shipped id buy em

stereo seperation......yea you got the gist of it.....basically your left and right channels contain different information......ir you ran the left as the front and the right as the rear then you would lose the imaging and seperation of the channels or more specifically you would shift the to front and rear vs. left and right and your stereo would have poor if not nonexistant imaging......unless you want to sit sideways in your car.........

I MAY be able to help you out here if you're interested. My cousin has a used pair of JL XR650 comps that's thinking about selling since she's swapping vehicles. If I can talk to her I may be able to sell them for her. Her b/f put them in and they have a small flaw, he had a small puncture in the surround on the right mid, but it isn't bad looking and doesn't affect performance (I've heard them to be able to assure you that), I think he had to resolder one of the tweeter leads, too, but that's not all that uncommon with the dinky 22guage most companies use for tweeters. Just trying to be straight with you so you know what to expect, performance isn't affected, but because they aren't technically perfect I could prob. talk her into selling for $100 shipped and they'd spank the crap out of the Alpine Type Rs and Ss. It would come with all mounting hardware, grilles, tweeter cups, original packaging, and so forth. She's coming down for Christmas, so I could take pics and show you if you'd like. I could just put some fingernail polish on the surround to seal the surround up and problem solved, or if you were that worried about it you could just buy a new midbass driver and it'd still be much cheaper than online pricing. Let me know if you're interested and I'll let her know to bring them down

the only thing im gonna have is some scosche comps do you need 5 1/4 or 6 1/2? they sound pretty good considering the price........about 100 bucks compared to 329 to 379 for elevation.....granted the elevation sound better but there is a big big diference in price.....i dont know what you could score used you may find a set of jl xr650's priced good and they sound excellent....

and believe me it pains me to push the jl's at all......but, i used to own a set of these and really liked them.....

yeah take some pics for me. 100 bucks shipped is nice. its gonna cost 60 to get em installed, they are gonna need to cut the door a little but no big deal 60 bucks aint bad.
