Waz Up all...I am new to this forum but bring some knowledge w/ me..i have been a member on Elite car audio for about a year now.

My current setup is

2000 solara

Alpine 9813
to stock fronts
Punch 200ix (running 2 ohm bridged, 1 ohm per channel w fan)
to 1 sealed 10" oz audio marix elite

no heat/shut off problems at all w/ the old school punch..

i have new front stage going in but i am not sure what yet as the electrical system in toyotas are usually only 80 amps.

My original plan for this car was 2 matrix 10" in ported encl. running off audio art 100hc and aura mr-62 component set off the punch 200ix
however
just one 10" off the audio art was pulling some considerable juice so i know 2 and a front stage is too much.. and i am not upgrading the alt..already have the big "3" done.

new plan is to keep one 10" off a "d" class amp aqnd find a kick azz front stage for the punch 200ix

so aura's and 10" matrix elite will be for sale if anyone is interested

welcome to the forums. Glad to have ya here.
nice car. good head unit (I have a 9813 sitting here myself) and very nice choice in the sub you have.
the Vdrive amp can handle a 2-way component set in front but you would be better off amping the fronts too.
stock alternator is pretty tight on those cars so you'll want to think about at least some minor upgrades to teh charging system just to give yourself some ehadroom for current supply.

look forward to seeing ya in the threads.

Welcome to the forum. I have always like the OZ subs, if they are as good as they were in 94, then you have a great start to an awesome setup.

the alt is only 80 amps which sucks..

i did the big three , actually four, but does not seem to help much.

running just the hu alone i get some slight dimming inside at idle! this thing prolly put out 10 amps at idle..

anyway i think i am going to put a p1r in..camxrunner (i think he is on here too.) reminded me of this unit. i wanted to use one years ago but was intimidated. not now.

also

do you all think i should bother with a deep cycle first or just sdave the cash for the alt upgrade

and as far as the alt goes anyone ever have any noticable power decrease in the engine from installing say 180-220 amp alt..thanks for the welcome btw..

your charging system is only as good as your weakest link. what kind of battery do you have under the hood? if its a cheap one just go get an interstae battery for like 80 bucks and youll notice a pretty big difference then get the alternator.

actually i was looking into getting a cheap alternative to car audio deep cycle batts...marine deep cycle..you can get one with similar specs as say a red top for 40-50 bux..

so you think a better batt would be a noticble help.. technically wouldnt i still gert dimming if the juice started coming from the batt rather than the alt regardless of what batt is in there?

ya you would but you still need something to store power too. i had a motorcraft battery in my mustang and i swapped it out for an interstate and it was like night and day. and i have a 150 amp alternator.
